KESSEL RUN IS A COMBINATION LOGO AND WEBSITE DESIGN FOR A RARE BREED DOG BREEDER.

This is a website design for my personal kennel, giving myself full creative freedom. I wanted the site to feel welcoming and use earth tones to convey the nature of my chosen breed (the icelandic sheepdog), which is very natural and outdoorsy. My main challenges included fitting a lot of information into the website in a way that is easy to digest and would encourage viewers to read the content and learn more about these dogs. I also needed to showcase my personal dogs and information about them, talk about my litters and processes for puppy adoption, as well as being a resource for general information about the breed temperament and what living with them is really like. This was largely successful, the site has been shared multiple times as a resource for breed information and will continue to grow in this aspect.

For the logo design, I was my own worst client. I knew going into it I wanted to reflect the sci fi theme of my kennel, and go beyond depicting the breed literally. I was ultimately inspired by images of futuristic robotic dogs, creating the dogs shape out of raw shapes initially, and eventually refining them in a more tribal pattern as a nod back to the ancient nature of the breed. I chose a font with harsh lines and pointed edges to match the hard edges and jagged points of my final design.
